COLUMBIA, KY. -- Victoria Masters has been named the Lindsey Wilson College head softball coach, the school announced today.
"Victoria is a young, hungry coach who will bring a fresh perspective to our softball program while keeping us competitive," said Athletic Director Willis Pooler. "We are excited about Coach Masters joining our department."
The Lindsey Wilson position is Masters' first head coaching position after two seasons as assistant coach at Chadron State (Neb.) College. Masters was an integral part of the process to create the program from scratch at Chadron State, assisting in all the day-to-day activities of the program.
COLUMBIA, Ky. -- Tom Opdenbrouw is leaving his position as Lindsey Wilson College softball coach to become assistant softball coach at Tennessee State University.
A national search will begin immediately to find Opdenbrouw's successor.
GEORGETOWN, Ky. -- The Lindsey Wilson College softball lost 1-0 to Campbellsville (Ky.) University in the Mid-South Conference finals today and now must wait to see if they will receive one of the at-large bids into the NAIA Region XI Tournament.
After dropping their first game in the MSC Tournament, the Blue Raiders fought their way into the championship game before falling to Campbellsville.

The Blue Raiders (31-17) scored early and often en route to a 7-1 win over University of the Cumberlands (Ky.) in the first elimination game of the day.
Georgetown, Ky. -- The Lindsey Wilson College softball team lost 3-0 to Pikeville (Ky.) College today in the Mid-South Conference Tournament opening round at the Georgetown College Softball Complex.
Fifth-seeded Pikeville (24-25) scored twice in the third and another in the fourth inning en route to the upset win over fourth-seeded Lindsey Wilson (29-18).
