BARBOURVILLE, Ky. -- The Lindsey Wilson College women's tennis team shut out Union (Ky.) College 9-0 on Tuesday and stayed in the NAIA Coaches' Top 25 Poll for the second consecutive week at No. 15.

The Blue Raiders began the season ranked fifth in the preseason poll, but dropped 10 spots after losing to Shorter (Ga.) College in the season opener on Thursday, March 4.

COLUMBIA, Ky. -- Lindsey Wilson College senior Jessica Weyreuter went 1-0 during the first week of the fifth ranked Lindsey Wilson College women's tennis season to earn Mid-South Conference Player of the Week honors, the conference announced on Monday.

Weyreuter earns the first weekly conference award of the season despite the Blue Raiders falling as a team to Shorter (Ga.) College last week.

COLUMBIA, Ky. -- Despite a straight-set 6-1, 6-0 win by No. 2-seed Jessica Weyreuter, the Lindsey Wilson College women's tennis team came up empty handed, falling 5-1 to Shorter (Ga.) College on Thursday in the season opener at the Lindsey Wilson tennis courts.

All three Blue Raider doubles teams took a loss to open the match. The No. 2 doubles pair of Trina Slapeka and Agnieszka Wajtowicz came the closest to a win, falling 8-5 to Coralie Fayard and Emmanuelle Beaucoudrey.

COLUMBIA, Ky. -- The Lindsey Wilson College women's tennis team is ranked No. 5 in the first regular season NAIA Coaches' Top 25 Poll of the season, the national office announced on Tuesday. The Blue Raiders received 294 points in the poll to stay where they were picked in the preseason ratings last week.

The entire top five of the poll remained unchanged as six-time defending national champion Auburn Montgomery (Ala.) is No. 1 in the poll, where it has been ranked for 42 consecutive ratings.

Fresno Pacific (Calif.) University, which has finished as runner-up in four straight national championships, is ranked No. 2, while the No. 3 spot goes to Concordia (Calif.) University.
