SPRING ARBOR, Mich. -- The Lindsey Wilson women's soccer team won their season opener 4-1 on Saturday over Spring Arbor (Mich.) University.

The Blue Raiders opened the game with a quick goal in the ninth minute by freshman midfielder Ida Gregersen netted her first of two goals on the night. Sophomore midfielder Katy Gilmour set up Gregersen to give the Blue Raiders a quick 1-0 lead.

Lindsey Wilson led at the break 1-0.

COLUMBIA, Ky. -- The Lindsey Wilson College women's soccer begins the 2008 season ranked No. 4 in the NAIA Women's Soccer Preseason Top-25 Poll, released by the NAIA today.

Lindsey Wilson received 598 points, including a first place vote from the 23 conference, independent and unaffiliated group raters that vote on the national poll.

The Blue Raiders finished last season with a 17-3-3 record and an appearance in the national semifinals.

COLUMBIA, Ky. -- The Mid-South Conference preseason coaches' poll has been released for the upcoming 2008 women's soccer season.

Lindsey Wilson College, the defending Mid-South champion is the preseason favorite with a total of 36 points, including six first place votes. The University of Cumberlands (Ky.) is predicted to finish second with a total of 29 points, including the other first place vote.

Georgetown College (Ky.) completes the top three with 26 points.

COLUMBIA, Ky. -- The Lindsey Wilson College women's soccer team will encounter another difficult schedule in 2008 as the Blue Raiders released their schedule today.

After NAIA titles in 2004 and 2006, the Lindsey Wilson women's soccer have high hopes for another championship in 2008.

In order to advance to their eighth straight national tournament, the Blue Raiders must maneuver through a very difficult scheduled that includes a trio of teams that participated in the 2007 national tournament.

COLUMBIA, Ky. -- Lindsey Wilson College has signed Jen Tom to NAIA women's soccer scholarships, the school announced on Wednesday.

Tom, a Lebanon, Ky., native, will join the Blue Raider program for the 2008-09 school year.
