KINGSPORT, TENN. - Lindsey Wilson College freshmen Roberto and Ricardo Vergara and Evan Crowdus all placed in the top four of the USATF 5K Race Walk National Championships on Oct. 4.

The Blue Raider trio competed and succeeded in the highest level of competition.

Roberto - the youngest Vegara twin - led the way as he finished second with a time of 24 minutes and 38 seconds. Ricardo and Crowdus finished third and fourth respectively, Ricardo edged out Crowdus by two tenths of a second.

COLUMBIA, Ky. -- Three of Lindsey Wilson College's newest student-athletes are competing and succeeding at the highest level. Ricardo and Roberto Vergara and Evan Crowdus participated in the 2008 USA vs. Canada Junior Race Walk Match on August 16 in British Columbia, Canada.

"You always want to represent your country and I believe we did that," said Ricardo Vergara.

The trio of Lindsey Wilson freshmen all finished in the top 10 at the annual event.

COLUMBIA, Ky. -- Lindsey Wilson College has signed Evan Crowdus to a NAIA scholarship, the school announced on Thursday.

The Morganfield, Ky., native, was selected as the 2007 USA Track & Field Kentucky 2007 Male Youth Athlete of the Year and Male Race Walker of the Year.

EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. -- Lindsey Wilson College junior Koji Hashiyama finished 18th in the men's marathon at the NAIA Outdoor Track & Field National Championships.

Hashiyama finished the grueling 26-mile, 58-man race with a time of 2 hours, 38 minutes, 40 seconds.

Hashiyama's time fell a minute shy of the program record of 2:37:48 set in 1995.

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. -- Lindsey Wilson College signed Chris Colvin to a NAIA men's track and field scholarship, the school announced on Monday.

The Campbellsville, Ky., native, will join the Blue Raiders in the 2008-09 school year.
