FRANKFORT, Ky. -- Lindsey Wilson senior forward Ashley Rainey is the 2012-13 Mid-South Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Year, conference officials announced tonight at its annual banquet at the Thomas D. Clark Center for History.

Rainey is one of 10 women's basketball student-athletes to earn all-conference first-team honors as voted on by the conference coaches. Coaches were not allowed to vote for their own players.

Ashley Rainey continued to play like an All-American with 25 points and 21 rebounds, but Sarah Gillis was the next highest scorer with eight points, which wasn't enough to beat a Patriot team that hit seven threes and blocked seven shots.

COLUMBIA, Ky. – Cassidy Martin, a 5-8 guard from Mercer Co. High School in Harrodsburg, Ky., signed an NAIA scholarship to join the Lindsey Wilson women's basketball team for the 2013-14 season, Blue Raiders head coach John B. Wethington announced on Tuesday.

Martin is averaging 25 points per game for the Titans, making her the sixth leading scorer in the state. She is also Kentucky's third leading 3-point shooter at just over 42 percent, making 84-of-193 attempts.
