The Blue Raiders cut into Cumberlands' first-round lead today with the best round of the day, but could not overcome the nine-stroke deficit.

Mid-South Women's Golf Championships First Round

BARDSTOWN, Ky. -- Lindsey Wilson's Kaitlin Allan is tied atop the leaderboard and the Blue Raider women's golf team is second overall following today's opening round of the Mid-South Conference Championships at Bardstown Country Club at Maywood.

Allan carded a 3-over par 75 (38-37) and is joined by Cumberlands' (Ky.) Taylor Gillis in first place with tomorrow's final round to play.

NAIA Women's Golf Top-25 Poll

COLUMBIA, Ky. -- The Lindsey Wilson women's golf team jumped one spot to No. 18 in the NAIA Top-25 Poll, NAIA officials announced on Friday with the release of the national poll.

The Blue Raiders received 191 voting points from the 16 national raters that conducted this rating period's poll. The one place jump marks the second straight rating period that Blue Raiders have moved up the poll.

LONDON, Ky. -- Lindsey Wilson women's golf produced the low round of the tournament today to finish runner-up at the Mid-South Conference Spring Tournament hosted by Cumberlands (Ky.) at Crooked Creek Golf Club.

The Blue Raiders shot a 318 today -- 27 strokes better than their opening round 345 on Monday -- to finish behind host Cumberlands and in front of Cumberland (Tenn.). Lindsey Wilson began play today in third place.

The Blue Raiders shot an opening round 345 and trails host and first-round leader Cumberlands (325) by 20 strokes heading into Tuesday's final round. Cumberland (Tenn.) is second after firing a 343.

ROME, Ga. -- The Lindsey Wilson women's golf team shot the second best score of the day to move up and finish fourth at the Rome News-Tribune Invitational hosted by Berry (Ga.) Coosa Country Club.

The No. 20-ranked Blue Raiders fired a 320 today and ended the two-day event with a team-total of 643 (323-320). With today's round, Lindsey Wilson moved from fifth after the first round to fourth.
