[Women's Golf] Joslyn Earns NAIA Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete

GREENEVILLE, Tenn. -- Lindsey Wilson College junior women's golfer Kelsey Joslyn has been named a National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics 2012 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete, NAIA officials announced today.

Joslyn is among 105 women to earn the honor reserved to juniors and seniors with at least a 3.5 grade point average on a 4.0 scale.

GULF SHORES, Ala. -- Lindsey Wilson is hoping a third try is a charm when it comes to advancing to the double-elimination round at the NAIA Softball National Championship, which starts with pool play on Thursday at the Gulf Shorts Sportsplex.

A first-time qualifier in 2010, the Blue Raiders are now heading into their third straight trip to nationals. In each of the past two seasons, Lindsey Wilson has finished 2-1 in pool play, falling one win short of advancing to the next round.

GREENEVILLE, Tenn. -- Kaitlin Allan recorded four birdies en route to a 1-under-par 72 in today's second round at the NAIA National Women's Golf Championship at Link Hills Country Club.

Allan -- who was tied for 58th at the beginning of play today -- is tied for 15th at the midway point of the 72-hole even with a 151 (79-72).

MOBILE, Ala. -- The Lindsey Wilson College men's tennis team's season ended today in a 5-3 loss to Vanguard (Calif.) University in the second round of the NAIA National Championships at the Mobile Tennis Center.

The No. 11-seeded Blue Raiders close out the season with a 19-6 record. Sixth-seeded Vanguard (15-10) moves into the national quarterfinals against No. 3-seed Oklahoma Christian University on Thursday.

MOBILE, Ala. -- Eleventh-seeded Lindsey Wilson College provided the first upset of the 2012 NAIA Women's Tennis National Championships today with a 5-2 win over No. 6-seed Point Loma Nazarene University at the Mobile Tennis Center.

The Blue Raiders (17-3) advance to play third-seeded Embry-Riddle (Fla.) University at 9 a.m. CT on Thursday, May 17 in the tournament's quarterfinals.

PADUCAH, Ky. -- Lindsey Wilson pushed all the way to the championship game of the NAIA Baseball National Championship Opening Round, but a win against the nation's top-ranked team wasn't meant to be as No. 1-seed LSU Shreveport outscored the Blue Raiders 5-1 on Saturday at Brooks Stadium-Doc Hideg Field.

The Blue Raiders finish the season with a 43-16 record, winning their first Mid-South Conference Regular-Season Championship and first win in the NAIA Opening Round along the way.

PADUCAH, Ky. -- Combine a nearly flawless pitching performance from Jeremy Greene with four second-inning runs and the Lindsey Wilson baseball team is on its way to the NAIA Opening-Round Championship Game after a 5-0 win against Peru State (Neb.) on Saturday at Brooks Stadium-Doc Hideg Field.

The win Saturday morning sets up a rematch with top-seeded LSU-Shreveport later in the day at 2 p.m. The Blue Raiders lost to the Pilots 1-0 on Friday, leaving LSUS as the only undefeated team in the bracket.

PADUCAH, Ky. -- Due to potential weather moving in the Paducah area on Saturday, the Lindsey Wilson College and Peru State (Neb.) University baseball game has been moved up to 10 a.m. CT at Brooks Stadium.

The game -- originally scheduled for 1 p.m. CT -- is an elimination game in the NAIA Opening Round Tournament in the Paducah Bracket.

PADUCAH, Ky. -- For just the second time this season, the No. 2-seed Lindsey Wilson baseball team was shutout, losing to top-seeded LSU Shreveport 1-0 on Friday in the opening round of the NAIA Baseball National Championship on Doc Hideg Field at Brooks Stadium.

The Blue Raiders are now 1-1 in the opening round and will face the winner between No. 3-seed Bellevue (Neb.) and No. 4-seed Peru State (Neb.) in an elimination game on Saturday at 1 p.m. CT.
