Last season, Wethington led the Blue Raiders to a 24-9 overall record, including 13-5 in the Mid-South Conference. Last season's national tournament run was the eighth appearance for Wethington's teams, including making the field in five out of the last six years.

The Blue Raiders reached the tournament's Sweet 16 three times out of the last four seasons.

Wethington earned his 300th win on Nov. 12, 2005 in a 59-44 win over Grace College, his 200th win on Nov. 30, 1999 over Lipscomb University and his 100th win on Jan. 21, 1995 over Brescia University.

Before being named head coach at Lindsey Wilson in 1989, Wethington spent two seasons as an assistant coach for the women's program.

Wethington graduated from Western Kentucky University in 1987. Wethington served as head manager for the men's basketball program, which was coached by former college and NBA star Clem Haskins.
