Lindsey Wilson College has a proud, successful athletic history. The athletics department's growth -- the addition of swimming and wrestling in 2009 and football in 2010 -- has meant the need for expansion to the athletics' facilities.
A state-of-the-art health and wellness center is scheduled to open in November 2009 on the site of the old baseball field. To make way for the 73,000 square foot building, the baseball program moved into its new home in the spring of 2009 at the new athletics property adjacent to the Louie B. Nunn Parkway.
Joining baseball on this property will be a new home for softball, the football program's new stadium and a track that will surround the football field.
Inside the health and wellness, an eight-lane swimming pool that the swimming team will share with the LWC student body and a 5,000 square foot wrestling room for the first-year program.
