Head Coach - 5th Season

Alicia Kemnitz begins her fifth season as the head men and women’s swimming coach at Lindsey Wilson College in 2014-15.

Kemnitz has turned a new program -- 2009-10 was the first year for Lindsey Wilson swimming -- into one that annually competes at the NAIA National Championships where the men and women’s teams have combined for three top-10 finishes in four seasons.

At the 2014 NAIA National Championships, the Blue Raider women recorded its best finish at the season-ending event with a 10th place finish while the men narrowly missed the top-10 ending in 12th place.

This past year’s national championship extended Kemnitz’s streak of sending swimmers to every NAIA National Championships since becoming the Blue Raiders’ coach.

During Kemnitz’s four seasons, the Blue Raider men are 23-15 in dual matches while the women are 19-15. The Lindsey Wilson men just missed a perfect dual season in 2013-14, going 6-1 during the season in head-to-head matches.

Outside the pool, Kemnitz’s hard work -- along with other Mid-South Conference coaches – has resulted in swimming becoming a conference-sanctioned sport in 2014-15 with a championship and all-conference honors being awarded before the national championships.

Prior to the 2014-15 season, Kemnitz and Lindsey Wilson had hosted the Mid-South Conference Invitational -- a non-championship event -- for two seasons on the Lindsey Wilson campus.

Before coming to Lindsey Wilson, Kemnitz served one season as assistant coach at Lycoming (Pa.) after four years as the head coach at King’s (Pa.).

While at Lycoming, Kemnitz helped lead the women’s program to the Middle Atlantic Conference title. It was the program’s first conference title in 13 seasons. She served as the team’s recruiting coordinator and aided in writing, organizing and leading practices.

While at King’s, Kemnitz led the program to 34 school records during her four seasons and coached the first three all-conference swimmers since 1998. The program also grew from two swimmers following her first season to 19 in her final season.

As a student-athlete at Hollins (Va.), Kemnitz was a two-time Old Dominion Athletic Conference performer. In 2007, Kemnitz, along with another inductee, became the youngest member of the Hollins Athletics Hall of Fame.

Kemnitz graduated from Hollins in 2002 and later completed her master’s degree from Old Dominion (Va.) in 2005.
