COLUMBIA, Ky. – The Lindsey Wilson women's basketball team was selected to finish tied for second in the Mid-South Conference Preseason Coaches' Poll, the conference office announced Tuesday.
The Blue Raiders received 41 total points and three first-place votes. Campbellsville (Ky.) also collected 41 votes and one first-place vote. Coaches could not vote for their own team.
Last season, the Blue Raiders shared the regular season MSC title and set a program-best with 32 victories. Lindsey Wilson fell in the national quarterfinals against Oklahoma City -- who went on to win the national championship.
Shawnee State (Ohio) was picked to finish first receiving 46 points and four first-place votes. Last season the Bears shared the regular season title and went on to win the Mid-South postseason championship.
Cumberland (Tenn.) is fourth in the poll with 29 points, followed by Pikeville (Ky.) in fifth with 26 voting points.
Cumberlands (Ky.) garnered 20 voting points and Georgetown (Ky.) earned 14 points, slotting them sixth and seventh respectively. Life (Ga.) rounds out the poll with seven voting points
The Blue Raiders open up the 2017-18 season on Nov. 3 against Indiana Wesleyan at the Indiana East Red Wolf Classic.
