BARBOURVILLE, Ky. -- The Lindsey Wilson College baseball team dropped a pair of games today at No. 17-ranked Union (Ky.) College at Carey Stadium.

The visiting Blue Raiders fall to 6-6 on the season with the 9-4 and 7-2 losses. Union improves to 15-2 on the season.

In the opener, Lindsey Wilson jumped out to a 2-0 lead after senior catcher Daniel Rector’s bases loaded single plated a pair of Blue Raiders.

Lindsey Wilson maintained the lead through the first two innings as freshman starting pitcher Jeremy Greene, a Winchester, Ky., native, allowed just one hit through the first trip through Union’s prolific offense.

In the third inning, the Bulldogs scored six times on five hits to chase Greene.

Greene (1-2) suffered the loss, allowing six runs on six hits in 2-1/3 innings.

Union added a three runs in the fifth inning to extend its lead to 9-2.

Lindsey Wilson senior Alex Arango and junior Nathan Bray each drove in a run late to cut the deficit to 9-4, but that was as close as the Blue Raiders would get.

Union’s Lucas Henson picked up his first win of the season allowing two runs on six hits in five innings of work.

In the nightcap, the Blue Raiders once again jumped out to an early lead before the Bulldogs came back for the 7-2 win.

Lindsey Wilson senior Ace Adcock scored an unearned run in the first inning to give the Blue Raiders a 1-0 lead.

Union grabbed a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the second as Kenny Kysar drove in a pair.

The Blue Raiders tied the game in the top of the third as Rector hit a sacrifice fly to plate Bray.

Union scored unanswered five runs over the next four innings to give the Bulldogs the 7-2 win.

Lindsey Wilson sophomore David Pis (0-1) suffered the loss in relief allowing one run on two hits in one inning of work. Union’s Greg Daughtery picked up the win in 1-1/3 innings of relief. Daughtery did not allow a run and just one Lindsey Wilson hit.
