ROME, Ga. – Third-seeded Denis Porcic won his quarterfinal match today at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Oracle Cup at the Rome Tennis Center.
Porcic defeated San Diego Christian's (Calif.) Aliaksandr Meliuk after Meliuk was forced to retire in the second set. Porcic won the opening set 6-1 and was tied at 4-4 with Meliuk when the match was halted.
Porcic advances to face second-seeded Kevin Konfederak from Georgia Gwinnett at 8 a.m. CT on Friday. Konfederak defeated Cardinal Stritch's (Wis.) Agustine Gascia 6-3, 6-2.

All four seeded players advanced to Friday's semifinals.
Georgia Gwinnett's top-seeded Federico Herrera Duran and Keiser's (Fla.) fourth-seeded Daniel Ceron meet in the other semifinal.
The championship match is slated for Saturday in Rome.
According to the ITA website, the ITA Oracle Cup has history dating back to 1986, and it is the only singles and doubles national championship event for the Division II and NAIA levels. This year, more than 8,000 players took part in a total of 60 regional tournaments to gain entry into the ITA Oracle Cup field.
