COLUMBIA, Ky. – The No. 9-ranked Lindsey Wilson men's soccer team travels to Lawrenceville, Georgia on Wednesday for a top-10 matchup against No. 7-ranked Georgia Gwinnett at 6 p.m. CT at Grizzly Soccer Complex.
The Blue Raiders (7-1-0), after trailing 2-0 in the first 17 minutes against Cumberland (Tenn.) on Friday scored six unanswered goals to record a 6-2 victory. Reigning NAIA Men's Soccer National Offensive Player of the Week Tyler Collishaw recorded a hat trick in the victory and has now scored five goals in two games. Yuta Yamamoto, Stephane Dasse and Nicholas Marcano added a goal apiece. Mutaya Mwape picked up a pair of assists, Andres Riquelme and Israel Reyna each had one. Lindsey Wilson outshot the Phoenix 26-6 including a 14-5 edge in shots on goal. This was the third-consecutive game the Blue Raiders recorded 20 or more shots in a game. The 14 shots on goal were a season high for Lindsey Wilson.
Georgia Gwinnett (7-1-1) defeated Martin Methodist on Sept. 28 3-2. Michael Weber scored a goal and recorded an assist. Samuel Sampaio Gomes and Sagi Hirsch also chipped in with a goal. Goalkeeper Matija Gligorovic recorded six saves in the victory. Sampaio Gomes leads the team in points (13) and goals with five.
This is the first meeting between the two programs.
