COLUMBIA, Ky. – The No. 3-ranked Lindsey Wilson volleyball team travels to face Cumberland (Tenn.) for a Mid-South Conference matchup Tuesday at 7 p.m. CT.
The Blue Raiders (10-0, 1-0 MSC) last played on the road Thursday night when they swept Indiana-Southeast in straight sets (25-18, 25-25, 25-16) for the second time this year.
Elly Burke and Paulina Sobolewska finished the match with seven kills each to lead the team. Makenzie Montano tallied 25 assists while Caitlyn Tino recorded 15 digs. As a team the Blue Raiders collected nine blocks and held the Grenadiers to a -.090 hitting percentage.
The Blue Raiders' .331 hitting percentage this season is the second best in the NAIA with Grace Blomstedt leading the NAIA with a .517 hitting percentage. The Blue Raiders have only dropped one set on the season.
Cumberland enters Tuesdays match with an 8-5 record and have won their last three matches. The Phoenix last defeated Lindenwood-Belleville (Ill.) 3-2, where Masa Nalovic led the team with 13 kills, giving her 130 kills in thirteen matches.
Cumberland's 2.3 blocks per game is the 16th best in the NAIA. Isidora Markovic has a team high 48 blocks on the year.
Tuesday's meeting is the 49th all-time meeting between Lindsey Wilson and Cumberland. The Blue Raiders have dominated the series against the Phoenix as of late, winning 15-consecutive matches dating back to start of the Andy Cavins era in 2011. The last Cumberland win came on Sept. 4, 2010.
