SILVIS, Ill. -- Rasmus Broholt Lind shot a 7-over par 78 in the opening round of the 2017 NAIA Men's Golf National Championship today at the TPC Deere Run.
Lind -- playing as an individual -- it tied for 67th in the 155-man field.
Lind carded a pair of birdies during his first round at the 6,651-yard, par-71 TPC Deere Run layout. He also scattered nine bogeys in the round to match his highest round of the season.
After opening his round on the back nine, Lind bogeyed his second and third holes of the round only to bounce back with a birdie on the par-4, 411-yard 13th hole to get back to 1-over par.
Lind stumbled at the close of his outward nine with three bogeys in his final four holes to post a 4-over par 40 on the TPC Deere Run back nine.
Four bogeys and a birdie -- on the par-4 fifth hole -- on his back nine provided Lind's final score.
Cardinal Stritch (Wis.) leads the team competition after today's opening round 289 while Johnson & Wales (Fla.) is in second with a 293.Texas Wesleyan's Rowan Lester and William Woods' (Mo.) David Houlding sits atop the individual leaderboard with 2-under par 69s.
Lind tees off at 2:10 p.m. CT on Wednesday for his second round.
