COLUMBIA, Ky. – The Lindsey Wilson baseball team takes a two-game road trip to Indiana Southeast and Brescia (Ky.) this Tuesday and Wednesday.
The Blue Raiders (25-19) take on Indiana Southeast (32-9) on Tuesday at 5 p.m. CT before taking on Brescia (13-27) on Wednesday at 5 p.m. CT.
Lindsey Wilson took two games out of three in a Mid-South Conference series against Georgetown (Ky.) Friday-Saturday.
The Blue Raiders dropped game one on Friday 3-2 on a walk-off single. Lindsey Wilson swept a doubleheader on Saturday 5-2, 3-2. Steven Paredes and Jan Carlos Ortiz each recorded three hits in the 5-2 victory while Ray Gonzalez drove in two runs. Louis Corral picked up the victory pitching 4-2/3 innings of relief allowing no runs on four hits and striking out three. Gonzales recorded two hits and drove in a career-high three runs in the second game.
The Grenadiers enter play having won 15 of their last 17 games and have won six consecutive. Indiana Southeast swept a four-game series against Ohio Christian Friday-Saturday. The Grenadiers outscored Ohio Christian 67-23 in the series.
Logan Barnes has a team-high .435 batting average and Hector Marmol leads the team in RBIs with 40. Ryne Underwood leads the team in earned run average (3.18), strikeouts (45) and is tied for the team lead in wins with five.
Tuesday marks the third meeting this season between LWC and Indiana Southeast. The Grenadiers are 2-0 against the Blue Raiders. IU Southeast defeated Lindsey Wilson 8-6 in New Albany, Indiana on March 16 before handing the Blue Raiders a 7-4 loss at home on March 21.
The Bearcats are 5-5 in their last 10 games and have won four consecutive. Brescia swept Asbury (Ky.) in a four-game series over the weekend. Brescia limited Asbury to just five runs in four games.
Zach Johnson leads the team in batting average (.359) and RBIs (24) while Alex Flock has hit a team-high five home runs. Tanner Tow leads the team in wins (4) and earned run average (2.57) while Hunter Kloke has recorded a team-high 45 strikeouts.
Lindsey Wilson split a home doubleheader against Brescia on March 28. The Blue Raiders dropped game one 8-7 and picked a 1-0 victory in the second game.
