COLUMBIA, Ky. – The Lindsey Wilson men's track & field team competed at both the Western Kentucky University Relays in Bowling Green, Kentucky and the Cumberlands Invitational in Williamsburg, Kentucky on Saturday.
The Blue Raiders collected 11 top-five finishes and nine NAIA national standards throughout the two separate events.
DeQuan Robinson, Kevin Hallmon and Holt Keeling all finished in 10th place or better in both the 100 and 200 meter dash events. In the 100 meters, Robinson was the highest Blue Raider finisher after capturing third place out of 36 runners with a time of 10.60 seconds, good enough for a national A standard. Hallmon finished right behind Robinson in fourth with a B standard time of 10.67 seconds. Keeling missed out on the B standard by .08 seconds after his ninth-place finish.
In the 200 meters, both Hallmon and Robinson achieved national A standards after finishing with times of 20.86 seconds (third place) and 21.07 seconds (fifth place), respectively. Keeling picked up a B cut after his time of 21.53 seconds, missing the A mark by .03 seconds.
The trio teamed up with Christian Davis for a fourth-place finish in the 4x100 meter relay, crossing the tape in 40.59 seconds for another A standard.
In the field events, Goabaone Mosheleketi and Anthony Thompson both hit A standards in the triple jump. Mosheleketi finished sixth with a leap of 14.63 meters, while Thompson captured seventh at 14.53 meters out of 15 competitors.
Cameron Murphy provided a strong showing at the Cumberlands Invitational, finishing sixth or better in a trio of events, including taking home the win in the 400 meter dash. He topped the field of 19 with a time of 54.26 seconds to win the 400 hurdles, beating out second place by over a second. The time was good enough for a national B standard after surpassing the 54.65 mark.
Murphy also added a sixth-place finish in the 110 meter hurdles with his time of 15.81 seconds.
Clay Priddy took home a runner-up finish in the 3,000 meter steeplechase after his time of 10:17.28 finished just over two seconds off the winning time.
Caleb Watson also added a top-three finish in a distance event, taking home third in the 800 meter run with a time of 1:56.96 to lead the way for LWC in the event.
Dakota Dunn recorded a pair of sixth-place finishes in field events. He recorded a distance of 42.28 meters in the hammer throw to lead the way for Lindsey Wilson out of 39 total competitors. Dunn then recorded a toss of 13.28 meters in the shot put, placing sixth out of 46.
Jonah Quire added a fourth-place finish in the pole vault after clearing 3.50 meters.
The Blue Raiders are back in action on April 14 for the two-day Austin Peay State Governors Invitational in Clarksville, Tennessee.
