COLUMBIA, Ky. – The No. 11-ranked Lindsey Wilson softball team travels to Georgetown (Ky.) for a Mid-South Conference doubleheader beginning at 2 p.m. CT at the Tiger Softball Complex.
The Blue Raiders (18-7, 4-0 MSC) swept a doubleheader against Bryan (Tenn.) on Monday 3-2, 8-1. It was the seventh consecutive win for Lindsey Wilson. The Blue Raiders scored three runs in the fifth inning. Callum Pilgrim went 3-for-3 with one run batted in. Casey Bryan earned the victory pitching a complete game giving up one earned run and striking out six. In game two five Lindsey Wilson hitters had at least two hits. Amy Rogers went 3-for-4. Sydney Fourman and Samantha Luckett each recorded two hits and drove in two runs.
Fourman leads the team in batting average (.351) and home runs (5). Amber Foukes leads the team in RBIs with 19 and Pilgrim has stolen a team-high nine bases this season.
On the mound the Blue Raiders have posted a 1.54 earned run average in 167-2/3 innings of work. Bryan leads the team in wins with eight and strikeouts with 83. Taylor Slade has a team-best 0.74 ERA.
The Tigers (18-6, 1-1 MSC) opened up MSC play on Tuesday at Shawnee State (Ohio) on Tuesday. Georgetown dropped game one of the doubleheader 7-5 and won game two 5-4 (10 innings). Georgetown has won seven of its last eight games.
Sydney Goyette leads the team in batting average (.481), home runs (7) and RBIs (30). Georgetown has nine players with at least 10 runs batted in. The Tigers are second in the NAIA in stolen bases per game with 3.1.
Lindsey Wilson has won the last 17 matchups with Georgetown dating back to March 20, 2013. The Blue Raiders outscored the Tigers last season 38-18.
