LONDON, Ky. – The No. 22-ranked Lindsey Wilson women's golf team sits in third place after the first round of play at the Mid-South Conference Spring Tournament, hosted by Cumberlands (Ky.) at the Crooked Creek Golf Club.
The Blue Raiders shot a 32-over par 324 on the par 73, 5,963 yard course are five strokes behind Cumberland (Tenn.) and Cumberlands (Ky.) who are tied for first after the opening round.
Courtney Vincent shot a 5-over 78 and is tied for fourth. Vincent was a first-round best 2-under on par threes and made the second most birdies with four. Kenna Richardson is tied for sixth with a 6-over 79. Tara Rodenhurst, the reigning MSC Women's Golfer of the Week shot a 9-over 82 and is in ninth place. Rodenhurst began her round on the 10th hole where she carded the only eagle of the first round.
Megan Kriz and Shayna Cockrill rounded out the Lindsey Wilson contingent. Kriz sits tied for 16th with a 12-over 85, while Cockrill shot a 16-over 89 and is tied for 24th. Ashley Strong who is playing as an individual is in 33rd after shooting a 104.
Cumberland's Savanna Strode leads the field with a 2-over 75.
Day two of the MSC Spring Tournament begins tomorrow morning.
