COLUMBIA, Ky. – The Lindsey Wilson men's swim team dropped one spot to No. 9 in the final NAIA Men's Swimming & Diving Coaches' Top-10 Poll, officials from the national office announced on Thursday.
The Blue Raiders were previously tied for eighth place in the poll.
Olivet Nazarene (Ill.) moved up to the top spot in the poll after previously being ranked No. 3. Keiser (Fla.) is second and SCAD Savannah (Ga.) is third.
Joining Lindsey Wilson from the Mid-South Conference is Cumberlands (Ky.) at No. 5 and Lindenwood-Belleville (Ill.) at No. 8.
The team ratings are conducted by a committee of NAIA Swimming and Diving coaches three times during the season using the most current "top times" as the primary source of ranking.
Lindsey Wilson is coming off a third-place finish at the MSC Championships on Feb. 4.
The national office also released the final NAIA Top Times Report of the season earlier in the week.
Lindsey Wilson swimmers garnered 33 mentions in the individual events list while the Blue Raiders have recorded top-10 times in all five relay events.
Clemens Paetzold owns a trio of top-10 times this season. He has recorded the fifth-fastest time in the 100-yard backstroke and the sixth-quickest time in both the 200-yard backstroke and the 200-yard individual medley. Jonas Mueller holds the fifth-fastest time in the NAIA this season in the 200-yard breaststroke and the eighth-best time in the 100-yard breaststroke. Jose Prado de Lima just missed out on a top-10 time in the 1,650 freestyle as his time is the 11th fastest.
In the relays report, the Blue Raiders are ninth or better including posting the fifth-fastest time this season in the 800yard freestyle relay.
