Amanda Johnson set a school record at the Findlay Classic.

FINDLAY, Ohio -- Lindsey Wilson College sophomore Amanda Johnson and freshman Megan Furnish competed at the Findlay Indoor Track and Field Classic on Friday at the Malcolm Athletic Center.

The pair competed in the women’s 3,000 meter Race Walk.

Johnson finished second in the 10-woman field with a time of 15:50.70. The Morganfield, Ky., native’s time shatters her previous school record, set last week at Cedarville University, by 15 seconds.

Furnish, a Bardstown, Ky., native, finished eighth with a time of 19:33.26. The time is a personal best, beating her previous mark by more than two minutes.

Goshen (Ind.) College sophomore Tina Peters won the event with a time of 15:12.09.

The Lindsey Wilson track and field team returns to action on Friday, February 1, at the Tiger Invitational hosted by DePauw (Ind.) University in Greencastle, Ind.
