CEDARVILLE, Ohio -- The Lindsey Wilson College women’s indoor track and field team finished fourth at the Cedarville (Ohio) University Collegiate Indoor Invitational on Friday at Doden Field House.
The Blue Raiders scored 49 team points to finish fourth in the 11-team event.
Lindsey Wilson senior Marie Coyon and junior Kristina Wimsatt each recorded wins to gain 10 points toward the team-total.
Coyon won the 5,000 meters with a time of 20 minutes 22.56 seconds beating second place Wright State University Natalie Hopwood by more than 15 seconds.
Wimsatt beat the triple jump field with a jump of 29 feet 9 1/4 inches (9.07m).
In addition to her triple jump win, Wimsatt finished third in the long jump to earn eight points. Wimsatt jumped 15-3 1/4 feet (4.65m).
Sophomore Amada Johnson qualified for the NAIA Indoor National Championships with her finish in the 3000 meter Race Walk. Johnson finished third (8 points) in the event and set a school record with a time of 16:05.
Freshman Megan Furnish joined Johnson in the scoring column in the race walk with a 10th place finish (3 points) and a time of 21:38.
Senior Amber Cannon scored five points with her sixth place finish in the 200 meters (27.81) and her eighth place finish in the 400 meters (1:06.74).
Junior Monicah Maiyo completed the Blue Raider scoring with a fourth place finish in the 5,000 meter run. Maiyo finished with a time of 20:56 scoring five points.
