COLUMBIA, Ky. – The ninth-ranked Lindsey Wilson wrestling team is back in action this week as they head to Ada, Ohio for the Ohio Northern Invitational on Saturday, starting at 8 a.m. CT.
In the last event for the Blue Raiders, they competed at the Joe Parisi Open hosted by Lindenwood (Mo.), which featured teams from NCAA DI and DII along with NAIA and NJCAA programs. A total of 27-ranked teams competed in the event, including No. 1-ranked in Division I Oklahoma State, No. 1-ranked in Division II Maryville (Mo.), No. 1-ranked in NAIA Grand View (Iowa) and No. 1-ranked in NJCAA Ellsworth CC (Iowa).
Lindsey Wilson had nine wrestlers compete at the event as Jake Burroughs, Bryson Jones and Kohl Dodd led the team. Burroughs went 3-2 in the 125-pound weight class, while both Jones and Dodd went 2-2 at the event.
At the Ohio Northern Invitational last year, James Flint led Lindsey Wilson at the competition with a first-place finish in the 125-pound weight class, while Daniel Leonard was the runner-up in the 141-pound division.
