COLUMBIA, Ky. – Senior Carol Siqueira is the Mid-South Conference Volleyball Attacker of the Week, and sophomore Makenzie Montano is the MSC Setter of the Week, the conference office announced on Monday.
It marks the second time in her career Siqueira has earned attacker of the week honors, both coming this season, while Montano earns her sixth conference weekly honor of the season and eighth of her career.
Siqueira led the Blue Raiders to wins over No. 13 Georgetown (Ky.) and Shawnee State (Ohio) last week. The outside hitter had 18 kills and nine digs against the Tigers, while recording 13 kills and eight digs to conclude the regular-season MSC schedule against the Bears.
On the year, Siqueira leads the Blue Raiders with 387 kills, while she has the second highest kills per set average of 3.8, in the conference.
Montano combined for 69 assists in the Blue Raiders' two wins over Georgetown and Shawnee State. Against the Tigers, she recorded 30 assists, while chipping in with a kill and five digs.
The native of Louisville, Ky., then posted a double-double against the Bears with 39 assists and ten digs to go along with four kills. She leads the Mid-South with 10.4 assists per set and has the second most total assists with 1,138.
Lindsey Wilson won the Mid-South regular-season title along with securing the top-seed in the Mid-South Conference Tournament which begins on Thursday in Bowling Green, Ky.
