COLUMBIA, Ky. -- The Lindsey Wilson College track and field men finished third and the women fifth at the Tiger Indoor Invitational on Saturday in Greencastle, Indiana.

The men finished third of 17 teams with 72 points behind winner Monmouth (Ill.) College with 136 points and the University of Indianapolis (Ind.) With 118.5 point.

The women placed fifth out of 15 with 67 points. University of Indianapolis won the invitational with 168.5 points.

For the men, sophomore Cody Brooks finished seventh in the shot put with a school record throw 44' 6.75". Brooks bettered his own previous school-record of 42' 8".

Junior Jamaine Gordon and sophomore Carlos Morgan automatically qualified for the national championships in the long jump. Gordon qualified with a jump of 23' .75" and finished second in the event. Morgan's qualifying mark of 23' 3.25" won the long jump competition.

Sophomore Carl Morgan provisionally qualified for the national championships in the long jump with a mark of 22' 11". Morgan finished third in the long jump.

Sophomore Sammy Maiyo provisionally qualified for the national championships in the one mile run and the 3,000 meter run. Maiyo won both events with a mile time of 4:24.58 and 3,000 meter time of 8:51.98.

On the women's side, freshman Kristina Wimsatt placed first in the triple jump and set the school record with a jump of 34' 11". Wimsatt also won the long jump and shattered the school record in the process with a jump of 17' 2.75". The former record was 14' 4".

Sophomore Kamila Bocian won the 600 meter run with a time of 1:38.07, breaking her own school-record of 1:38.05 which she set last year. Bocian automatically qualified for the nationals.

Sophomore Amber Cannon set a new school record in the 200 meter dash as she placed fourth with a time of 27.22. Cannon held the previous record from last year at a time of 27.99. Cannon also finished third in the 400 meter dash at 1:02.56.

Lindsey Wilson competes next on Saturday, February 11, as the Blue Raiders participate in the Depauw Invitational in Greencastle, Indiana.
