COLUMBIA, Ky. – No. 5 Lindsey Wilson men's tennis opens the 2014 NAIA Men's Tennis National Championship on Wednesday, May 14 at 1 p.m. CT in Mobile, Ala at the Mobile Tennis Center, the national office announced on Tuesday.
The NAIA Men's Tennis National Championships open on Tuesday, May 13 with eight first round matches starting at 1 p.m. CT. The second round starts on Wednesday at 1 p.m. CT with the quarterfinals starting on Thursday, May 15. The semifinals are held on Friday, May 16 with the finals on Saturday, May 17, all at 1 p.m. CT.
Fifth-seeded Lindsey Wilson (16-2) won the Mid-South Conference Tournament and received the conference's automatic bid and a first round bye. The Blue Raiders face the winner of the Indiana – Southeast and Northwestern Ohio match on Wednesday, May 14 at 1 p.m. CT.
In the bottom half of the Lindsey Wilson draw, Savannah College of Art and Design – Atlanta (Ga.) plays William Carey (Miss.) with the winner facing No. 4 Vanguard (Calif.).
No.1-seed Embry-Ridde (Fla.), No. 2-seed Auburn (Ala.) Montgomery, No. 3-seed Georgia Gwinnett, No. 6-seed Cumberland (Ky.), No 7-seed Westmont (Calif.) and No. 8-seed Belhaven (Miss.) are the other six teams that receive a first round bye in the NAIA Tennis National Championships.
