WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. -- The Lindsey Wilson College men's and women's track and field competed in the Mid-South Conference Championships on Saturday.
The Blue Raider men finished second with 217 points. University of the Cumberlands (Ky.)--the host of the championships-- won with a point total of 253.
Campbellsville (Ky.) University (51) finished third, while Georgetown (Ky.) College finished fourth (44) and Pikeville (Ky.) College rounded out the competition with 12 total team points.
Lindsey Wilson junior Sammy Maiyo earned 30 points for the Blue Raiders. Maiyo finished first in the men's 1,500 meter run, the men's 5,000 meter run, and the men's 10,000 meter run.
Junior Emmanuel Isanda finished first in the men's 400 meter hurdles, first in the men's javelin throw and fourth in the men's 1,500 meter run. Isanda earned 25 total points for the Blue Raiders.
Isanda broke the school record in the men's 400 meter hurdles with a time of 55.59.
Senior Jamaine Gordon collected 23 total points for Lindsey Wilson in four events. Gordon earned first place in the men's long jump and the men's triple jump, fifth in the men's high jump and sixth in the men's 110 meter hurdles.
Junior Cody Brooks picked up second in the men's shot put and discus throw, and third in the men's javelin throw. Brooks collected a total of 22 points on Saturday.
The Lindsey Wilson College men's meter relay team earned a total of 26 points for their first place finish in the men's 4x800 meter relay and their second place finishes in the 4x100 and 4x400 meter relays.
Freshman Pascal Milien collected a total of 16 points for his second place finish in the men's 400 meter dash, third place finish in the 100 meter dash, and fifth place finish in the men's 200 meter dash.
Junior Zanman Graham second in the men's 100 meter dash, third in the men's 200 meter dash, and sixth in the men's 400 meter dash. Graham earned a total of 15 points for the Blue Raiders.
Sophomore Caleb Lafond and freshman Brian Campbell both collected a total of 14 points for the Blue Raiders on Saturday. Sophomore Adam Cecil earned 13 points while sophomore Koji Hashiyama added 10 points.
Freshman Drake Midgett earned 5 points for the Blue Raiders while freshmen Shelby Gribbins and Drake Midgett each added two points in the second place finish.
The Lindsey Wilson College women's track and field team finished second with 175 points. The University of the Cumberlands won the Championships with 228 total team points.
Georgetown finished third with 105 points while Campbellsville rounded out the competition with 30 points.
Lindsey Wilson junior Amber Cannon led the Blue Raiders with 48 total points to earn Mid-South Conference track & field MVP. Cannon finished first in the women's 200 meter dash, women's 400 meter dash, women's long jump and the women's triple jump, and finished second in the women's 100 meter dash.
Cannon set a new school record in the women's 400 meter dash with a time of 59.04.
Sophomore Marie Coyon collected 22 total points for the Blue Raiders. Coyon finished first in the women's 10,000 meter run, second in the women's 3,000 meter steeplechase, and fifth in the women's 5,000 meter run and women's 400 meter hurdles.
Sophomore Cassie Niersel finished second in the women's 10,000 meter runand women's javelin throw, fourth in the women's 5,000 meter run, and sixth in the women's 1,500 meter run. Niersel earned 21 points in the four events.
The Lindsey Wilson College women's relay team finished first in the women's 4x100 and 4x800 meter relays and second in the 4x400 meter relay to collect 28 total points for the Blue Raiders.
Freshman Grace Korir earned 20 total points in three events. Korir finished first in the women's 5,000 meter run, third in the women's 1,500 meter run and fourth in the women's 800 meter run.
Senior Meagan Crouse finished second in the women's 200 and 400 meter dash, and fifth in the women's 100 meter dash to collect a total of 18 points for the Blue Raiders.
Freshman Stellah Sang collected 18 total points in two events for the Blue Raiders. Sang finished first in the women's 800 meter run and second in the women's 1,500 meter run.
Each individual earned All-Conference for their first place finishes in the Championships.
Lindsey Wilson coach Edwin Hagens has been named the MSC Women's Track and Field Coach of the Year as voted on by his peers.
The Blue Raiders return to action at 3 p.m. CDT on Saturday, May 4, as they compete in the Billy Hayes Invitational by Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana.
