The Blue Raiders have won seven straight matches
COLUMBIA, Ky. -- The No. 4-ranked Lindsey Wilson men's tennis team won all nine matches today to sweep visiting Cumberlands (Ky.) at Henry Baughman Tennis Complex.
The Blue Raiders (9-2, 6-0 in the Mid-South) dropped a total of six games in the three doubles matches and just 12 games during the six singles matches.
Fernando Bogajo and Franciso Charters opened the day with an easy 8-1 win over Tyler Smith and Daryl MacLeish in the top seeded doubles match. Pablo Vilches and Giles Cornelis pushed the lead to 2-0 for the Blue Raiders with an 8-2 win over Ariez Heshaam and Eric Mikhlin in the No. 3 match.
Fabrico Morales and Sam Rogersen completed the doubles sweep in an 8-3 win over Juan Villamizar and Geovanny Satama.
Morales claimed the fourth Lindsey Wilson point in a 6-1, 6-0 win over Smith in the No. 2 singles. Bogajo secured the final point needed for the team win with a 6-3, 6-2 win over Heshaam in the top singles match.
Charters, Vilches, Cornelis and Marlon Dal Pont all won in straight sets to finish the win.
Lindsey Wilson travels to No. 9 Cumberland (Tenn.) on Saturday, April 6, in a battle of top-10 programs in Lebanon, Tenn. First serve is set for 2 p.m. CT.
