Blue Raiders return home at Noon CT on Thursday against Milligan (Tenn.)
CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – Going up against the No. 16 Campbellsville (Ky.) on the road, the fourth-ranked Lindsey Wilson men's tennis team didn't miss a beat, topping the Tigers 8-1 on Tuesday.
The Tigers (5-6, 3-2 MSC) got their lone point by default with Lindsey Wilson's (8-2, 5-0 MSC) Gilles Cornelis opting out of his match at No. 6 singles with the win already in hand.
While the doubles matches were played close, only one singles matchup went to three sets as Marlon Dal Pont topped Alejandro Soriano 7-6 (4), 4-6, 10-1 at the third seed.
In doubles, it was top-seeded Fernando Bogajo and Francisco Charters beating Michael Rjazanov and Sebastian Merot 8-4 and third-seeded Cornelis and Pablo Vilches finishing next over Austin Colliver and Tyler Hyatt 8-4 as well.
No. 2-seeded Fabricio Morales and Sam Rogerson were the last to finish with an 8-6 win against Soriano and Pontus Blom to put the Blue Raiders up 3-0.
Bogajo shined in the top singles spot, overwhelming Rjazanov 6-1, 6-0, followed by Morales topping Marot 6-1, 6-1 at No. 2. Charters had a marathon match with Blom at No. 4, winning 7-6 (3), 7-5.
Vilches wrapped up the wins for Lindsey Wilson with a 6-2, 6-3 decision against Austin Spalding.
