GEORGETOWN, Ky. -- The Lindsey Wilson College volleyball team's 10-match winning streak ended tonight with a 3-1 loss to No. 16-ranked Georgetown (Ky.) College at Davis-Reid Alumni Gym.
The Blue Raiders (12-7, 3-1 in the MSC) committed 25 hitting errors while recording a .164 attacking percentage in the 21-25, 29-27, 14-25, 23-25 loss. Georgetown ended in the match with 10 more kills (63-53) and a .250 attacking percentage en route to improving to 13-2 overall and 4-0 in the MSC.
Anderson was nearly unstoppable tonight finishing with the 11 kills in just 20 swings. She committed just one attacking error.
Georgetown matched the Blue Raiders with three players recording double-digit kills.
Rachel Eubanks finished with a match-high 18 kills while Caraline Maher (14) and Allyson Wilbourn (12) joined Eubanks in double figures.
After the two teams split the first two sets, Georgetown used a 9-2 run midway through the third set to seize control. The Tigers hit .480 in the set winning 25-14 to take a 2-1 set advantage.
The Blue Raiders looked as if they would square the match as Lindsey Wilson raced out to a 10-7 lead in the fourth set. But Georgetown fought back to tie the match at 22-22.
Hayne produced her 13th kill of the night to push the Blue Raiders to a 23-22 lead. But that would be the final Lindsey Wilson point of the evening as the Tigers ran off three straight to close out the match with a 25-23 fourth-set win.
Lindsey Wilson's Andrea Taylor -- the reigning MSC Player of the Week -- finished with 48 assists and eight digs. With her fourth dig of the match, Taylor became the first Blue Raider in the program's history with at least 1,000 assists and 1,000 digs.
At the conclusion of the night, Taylor sits with 2,896 assists and 1,004 digs.
Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 7 p.m. CT on Friday, September 28, as the Blue Raiders host MSC foe UVa.-Wise at Biggers Sports Center.
