Junior Marie Coyon finished 12th today at Wilmington.

WILMINGTON, Ohio -- The Lindsey Wilson College women’s cross country team finished 10th today at the Wilmington (Ohio) College Fall Classic.

The Blue Raiders scored 279 points to finish in the top-10 of the 22-team classic. Otterbein (Ohio) College won the classic with 58 team points.
 
Lindsey Wilson junior Marie Coyon led the Blue Raiders with a 12th place finish in the 187-woman field. Coyon ran the 5,000-meter course in 19 minutes and 47 seconds earning Lindsey Wilson 12 points. Junior Cassie Niersel finished 17th to give the Blue Raiders two harriers in the top-20. Niersel ran the course in 20:06 receiving 17 points.

Shawnee State (Ohio) University senior Lisa Davies won the event with a time of 18:41.

Lindsey Wilson sophomore Amanda Johnson finished 76th with a time of 21:41 to earn 74 points and junior Monica Maiyo ended 90th with a time of 22:07 to earn 86 points.

Senior Amber Cannon (22:12) concluded the Blue Raider scoring, picking up 90 points for a 97th place finish.

Freshmen Nicole Furnish (22:56), Candace Young (23:48) and LaEssence Buckner (24:00) round out the non-scoring Blue Raiders. The trio finished 119th, 139th and 144th respectively.

Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 10 a.m. CT on Saturday, October 20, as the Blue Raiders travel to the Southeastern Classic.
