The award is the third for Pooer since becoming AD in 2003
GEORGETOWN, Ky. -- Lindsey Wilson College athletic director Willis Pooler has been selected by his peers as the 2011-12 Mid-South Conference Athletic Director of the Year.
The honor is the third for Pooler since becoming the athletic director at Lindsey Wilson during the 2003-04 academic year.
Pooler shares the honor with University of Cumberlands' Randy Vernon.
The pair was honored at the conference's annual summer meeting at the Thomas & King Leadership & Conference Center at the Georgetown College Athletic Complex on Tuesday.
"I would like to congratulate Randy Vernon from the University of the Cumberlands who I share this award with," Pooler said. "Lindsey Wilson had an exceptional year on the field of play and in the classroom and all the credit goes to our coaches and student-athletes for their dedication, hard work and success throughout the year. I accept this award on their behalf."
Pooler also received the conference's athletic director of the year honor during the 2004-05 and 2006-07 academic years.
In 2011-12, Lindsey Wilson captured the MSC President's Cup -- the conference's all-sports trophy -- by scoring 115.5 points out of a possible 120 points. The 115.5 points is the most in the President's Cup history while the 12-point margin of victory is also a Cup record.
