COLUMBIA, Ky. -- The Lindsey Wilson College volleyball team won the rubber match in the season series with Indiana University Southeast today 3-1 at Biggers Sports Center.

Lindsey Wilson senior middle blocker Lucy Ng’ang’a led the Blue Raider hitting attack with 24 kills and a team-best .463 hitting percentage to help LWC to the 30-19, 30-23, 22-30, 30-18 win. Ng’ang’a also contributed a pair of service aces and six total blocks in the win.

Senior outside hitter Roxanne Kirchner added 13 kills and completed a double-double with a team-high 20 digs. Sophomore setter Kelley Burke led the team with 44 assists.

The Blue Raiders improves to 9-14 on the season with the rubber-match win. The two teams split a pair of matches earlier this season, with Lindsey Wilson winning 3-2 on August 30 and losing 0-3 on September 29. Both matches were played in New Albany.

IU Southeast freshman Shelby Newman recorded a team-high 11 kills as the Grenadiers fall to 11-14 on the season with today’s loss. Sophomore setter Stacey Flatt added 23 assists.

The Blue Raiders return to action at 6 p.m. CT on Tuesday, October 16, as Lindsey Wilson travels to University of the Cumberlands in Williamsburg.
