KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Lindsey Wilson's Ryne Burnett is one of 133 Daktronics-NAIA Men's Golf Scholar-Athletes, officials from the national office released on Thursday.
In order to be nominated for the award by the institution's head coach, scholar-athletes must maintain a minimum grade-point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and have achieved a junior academic status or higher to qualify.
Burnett -- also an Academic All Mid-South Conference honoree the past two seasons -- is the third Blue Raider golfer to be named a scholar-athlete by the NAIA.
The junior from Paducah, Ky., played a large role in the Blue Raiders' President's Cup win at the Pines at Lindsey Wilson with a 145 (75-70). Burnett ended the season finishing 12th in the MSC Championship with a three-round score of 238 (85-77-76).
