COLUMBIA, Ky. -- The Lindsey Wilson College volleyball team ended a four-match skid on Tuesday night with a 3-1 win over visiting University of the Cumberlands at Biggers Sports Center.
Lindsey Wilson senior middle blocker Lucy Ng’ang’a led the Blue Raiders with 26 kills in the 30-23, 28-30, 30-16, 30-20 win.
The Blue Raiders improve to 8-14 overall and 4-2 in the Mid-South Conference. Cumberlands drops to 4-17 overall and 0-4 in conference play.
Ng’ang’a -- who fell one kill short of a season-high -- contributed 6-1/2 blocks and a .382 hitting percentage in the win.
Lindsey Wilson senior outside hitter Roxanne Kirchner added 16 kills and 14 digs for sixth double-double of the season. The Clarinda, Iowa, native, added a .417 hitting percentage.
Sophomore setter Kelley Burke led the Blue Raiders with 44 assists. She added 10 digs for her fourth double-double of the season.
Sophomore outside hitter Kate Smallwood added team-highs with 20 digs and six service aces in the win.
Cumberlands freshmen Jenna Suttles and Erika Barnes led the Patriots with seven kills each. Junior setter Lauren Taylor contributed a team-high 22 assists.
Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 1 p.m. CT on Saturday, October 6, as the Blue Raiders host Indiana University Southeast at Biggers Sports Center.
