CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. -- For the third straight game, the Lindsey Wilson College baseball team staved off elimination in the Mid-South Conference Tournament at Tiger Field on the Campbellsville University campus.

The top-seeded Blue Raiders -- who dropped their tournament opener on Thursday -- beat University of Virginia's College at Wise 6-2 tonight. Lindsey Wilson (41-13) faces Shawnee State University in another elimination game at 2 p.m. CT on Saturday at Tiger Field.

Lindsey Wilson senior pitcher Jeremy Greene starred tonight on the mound allowing two runs on four hits in a 114-pitch, complete-game effort. He improves to 5-2 on the season with the win.

The sixth-seeded Cavaliers (24-26) scored the game's first run in the top of the second inning as Brian King drew a leadoff walk and later scored on C.J. McAndrews' RBI single for the 1-0 lead.

Lindsey Wilson answered with a two-run third inning to take the 2-1 lead.

Tyler Bernard led off the inning with a walk and moved into scoring position following a wild pitch from Wise starter Ben Coffman. Dustin Murphy singled to right field plating Bernard to tie the game at 1-1. MSC Player of the Year Leandro Perez chased Murphy home with a RBI single to give the Blue Raiders their first lead of the game.

Wise tied the game in the top of the four as King singled and scored on McAndrews ground out.

That would be all the Cavaliers would get off Greene who got stronger as the game continued. Following the fourth inning, UVa.-Wise managed just one hit and three base runners over the final five innings.

The Blue Raiders took the lead for good in the bottom of the fourth as Manuel Ozoria led off the inning with his first triple of the season. Bernard's sacrifice fly two batters later gave LWC a 3-2 lead.

Perez -- who finished the night 3-for-4 with a run and two RBIs -- extended the Lindsey Wilson lead in the fifth with a solo home run to right field. The homer is Perez's fourth of the season. Drew Barrett added a RBI single in the inning to push the Blue Raiders in front 5-2.

Lindsey Wilson added an insurance run in the eighth as Bernard drove home Ozoria for his second RBI of the night.

Coffman suffered the loss allowing five runs on six hits in 4-2/3 innings.

Lindsey Wilson faces fifth-seeded Shawnee State (33-24) at 2 p.m. CT on Saturday. The two teams did not play during the regular season. The Bears lost 4-2 to Georgetown College on Friday to fall into the consolation bracket.
