Blue Raiders host Cumberland University on Wednesday
WILMORE, Ky. -- The No. 13-ranked Lindsey Wilson College baseball team scored 20 runs and pounded out 24 hits in a sweep of host Asbury (Ky.) University today at Cecil Zweifel Field.
Lindsey Wilson improves to 31-10 on the season and runs its winning streak to 16 straight games following wins of 8-1 and 12-3.
Lindsey Wilson's Jeff Kerian led the offense in game one while Matt Addis pitched a complete game to lift the Blue Raiders to the 8-1 win.
Kerian finished the game with two doubles and drove home four runs while Manuel Alonso and Manuel Ozoria each provided two hits as the Blue Raiders out-hit the host 9-3.
Addis allowed an unearned run in the first inning and put up blanks the rest of the game to pick up his third win of the season. Addis ended the game allowing just three hits while striking out 10 in the seven-inning game.
In game two, Lindsey Wilson scored four in the first inning and five more in the fourth en route to the 12-3 win. The double-digit output is the ninth time this season the Blue Raiders have scored at least 10 runs in a game.
Ryan Williams and Kyle O'Hara each had three hits in the game while Ozoria and Adam Peacock added two hits apiece as the Blue Raiders walloped out 15 hits for the game.
Rob Kurtz improved to 4-1 on the season with the win. He allowed three runs on seven hits over five innings of work.
Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 5 p.m. CT on Wednesday, April 11, as the Blue Raiders host Cumberland (Tenn.) University in a single nine-inning game at Egnew Park.
