Hartney and Olson combine for 24 points at Centre on Saturday
DANVILLE, Ky. -- Sharon Ronoh ran the fastest 10,000 meters of the outdoor season in the NAIA to help the Lindsey Wilson College women's track & field team finish sixth today at the Centre (Ky.) College Invitational.
Ronoh -- the only Blue Raider to pick up a win on the day -- won the 10,000-meter run with a time of 35 minutes 45.31 seconds to score 10 points towards the team total.
The Blue Raiders finished the event with 43.5 points in the nine-team invitational. Eastern Kentucky University won the team event with 177 points.
Lindsey Wilson's Ruth Olson scored 13 points on the day with her second place finish in the 400-meter hurdles and a fifth place finish in the 110-meter hurdles.
Olson picked up eight points in the 400 hurdles by finishing with a time of 1:07.07. She scored five points in the 110 hurdles crossing the line in 16.95 seconds.
Katie Hartney also scored in multiple events recording 11 points in three throwing events.
Hartney earned a fourth place finish and five points with a throw of 128 feet and 3 inches in the hammer throw. She finished fifth (four points) in the discus at 108-5 feet and seventh (two points) with a heave of 35-6 feet in the shot put.
Lindsey Wilson returns to action on Saturday, April 14, as the Blue Raiders travel to the University of the Cumberlands (Ky.) Invitational in Williamsburg, Ky.
