CENTRAL CITY, Ky. -- The Lindsey Wilson College men's track & field team signed Brad Bilbro to a NAIA scholarship, the school announced on Thursday.

Bilbro, a Central City, Kentucky, native, will join the Blue Raiders in the 2007-08 school year.
"Bradley Bilbro is a great student-athlete to be blunt," Lindsey Wilson College track & field coach Edwin Hagans said. "He will help the team in both areas. He has a lot of talent."

Bilbro was the 2006-07 runner-up in the 5K in the Region I High School Championships. He finished 19th overall at the High School State Championships his senior year.

"I really like the atmosphere at Lindsey Wilson," Bilbro said. "Everyone there was friendly and really helpful."

Bilbro received the All-State Academic award and First Team All-State in 2006-07.

"I would like to improve my dedication for the team," Bilbro said. "I hope to improve my time and keep working to run faster."

"The best of his years are ahead of him," Hagans said. "Many people would love to be in his position. He knows it and will work hard and achieve goals that I am sure he is not aware of yet."

The Lindsey Wilson College track & field team finished second in the Mid-South Conference Championships in April.
