Third runner-up of the season for the Blue Raiders
LONDON, Ky. -- The Lindsey Wilson College women's golf team picked up its third runner-up finish of the season today as the Blue Raiders completed the Southeastern Kentucky Intercollegiate with a two-day total of 652 to finish behind host University of the Cumberlands.
No. 23-ranked Lindsey Wilson followed its season-low 324 on Thursday with a 328 today on a rain-filled round at Crooked Creek Golf Club. No. 12-ranked Cumberlands captured the tournament win with a 630 (310-320).
Lindsey Wilson sophomore Kaitlin Allan finished as the low Blue Raider with a fourth place finish. Allan shot a 159 (78-81) to finish seven strokes behind Cumberlands' Liz Stephens' 152 (75-77).
Allan -- who earned all-tournament honors -- ended playing the difficult par 3s at one under par over the two days. She finished the tournament second overall with 22 pars.
Senior Paola Gonzalez joined Allan on the all-tournament team for her fifth place finish. Gonzalez moved up one spot on the leaderboard with today's 81 to end the tournament with a 161 (80-81).
Junior Kelsey Joslyn moved from a tie for 10th into a tie for seventh following today's 81. Joslyn -- who ended the tournament tied for the most birdies with four -- shot 163 (82-81) over the two days.
Sophomore Candace Stacy finished in 14th with a 170 (84-86) while junior Jennifer MacKinnon ended in 16th with a 173 (88-85).
Lindsey Wilson returns to action on April 2-3 at the Mid-South Conference Spring Tournament at Cattails at Meadowview Resort in Kingsport, Tenn.
