COLUMBIA, Ky. -- Lindsey Wilson College senior Chase Spreen has earned 2011-12 Daktronics-NAIA Men's Basketball Scholar-Athlete honors, National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics officials announced on Monday.

Spreen is one of 55 men's basketball student-athletes to earn the honor.

The award is reserved to those student-athletes that have achieved at least a junior academic standing and maintained a 3.50 grade point average on a 4.0 scale.

The NAIA Scholar-Athlete award is the first for Spreen after earning Academic All Mid-South Conference earlier this season.

Spreen guided the Blue Raiders to a 21-10 record, including the program's first-ever out-right MSC regular season title. The Blue Raiders reached the program's 10th NAIA National Tournament this season.
