Win is fifth of the season against a ranked team for Lindsey Wilson

MONTGOMERY, Ala. -- Darren Travers allowed just one earned run in nine innings and Drew Barrett drove in four runs on two hits as Lindsey Wilson College withstood 10 hits to beat No. 13 Auburn Montgomery (Ala.) 5-2 on Tuesday at the AUM Baseball Field.

While Travers scattered the 10 hits during his complete-game performance, the defense was there to lend a hand, committing just one error as AUM stranded nine runners on base.

Travers struck out three batters and walked just one while throwing 117 pitches.

Barrett was responsible for all but one of Lindsey Wilson's runs, scoring two on a double in the fifth inning that helped the Blue Raiders push their lead to 4-1 after being tied at one run each after four innings.

Left fielder Adam Peacock led off the seventh being hit by a pitch and was eventually sent home on a fly out to center by Barrett. Leading 5-1, AUM responded with its second run of the game in the eighth inning, but could only muster one hit in the final frame as the Blue Raiders held on for the win.

Auburn Montgomery is the fifth win of the season for the Blue Raiders against a ranked team and they will get a chance to make it back-to-back ranked wins facing No. 8 Faulkner (Ala.) at 4 p.m. CT on Wednesday in Montgomery, Ala.

Starter Andrew Morris was saddled with the loss on Tuesday, throwing 5-2/3 innings, allowing four runs on six hits with three walks. Three relievers pitched an inning of relief the rest of the way in the loss.

Besides Barrett going 2-for-3 with a double, the only other Blue Raider with multiple hits was shortstop Leandro Perez going 3-for-4 with a double, two runs and a walk.

Right fielder Shane Turner led AUM with three hits, while catcher Michael Dugan recorded its only RBI.
