LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Lindsey Wilson College's Kalen Kimberland is the Mid-South Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week, conference officials announced on Monday.

The weekly honor is Kimberland's second of the season and of his career. Kimberland also earned the award last year on Dec. 5.

Kimberland averaged 21.5 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists while helping the Blue Raiders to a pair of home wins last week over No. 20 Campbellsville (Ky.) and St. Catharine (Ky.).

The Columbia, Ky., native matched his career-high in Thursday's 77-68 win over Campbellsville, scoring 26 points on 7-of-11 shooting from the field.

On Saturday, Kimberland finished with 17 points, three rebounds and two steals in the Blue Raiders' 64-58 come-from-behind win over St. Catharine.

The win helped Lindsey Wilson secure its first regular season conference title since the Blue Raiders tied for the league crown with Georgetown (Ky.) during the 2004-05 season.

Kimberland finished the week shooting 54.5 percent (12-of-22) from the field, including making five of his 10 three-point attempts. He also hit 14-of-19 free throws.

Kimberland's 14 points per game ranks 14th in the MSC and he ranks third in the conference in free-throw shooting (78.5).

Lindsey Wilson is 20-8 overall and finished the MSC regular season with a 12-4 record.

The Blue Raiders are the top-seed in this week's MSC Tournament at the Frankfort Convention Center in Frankfort, Ky.

Lindsey Wilson opens the tournament at 1 p.m. CT on Friday, March 2 against the winner of tonight's opening-round game between Shawnee State (Ohio) and Rio Grande (Ohio).
