Blue Raiders are No. 1 for the 36th time.
KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Fresh off its ninth NAIA National Championship, the Lindsey Wilson College men's soccer team is No. 1 in the final NAIA Men's Soccer Coaches' Top-25 Poll released today by the NAIA.
The Blue Raiders (23-0) finish the 2011 season with 529 voting points and all 19 first-place votes. The undefeated season is the second Lindsey Wilson's history (1998).
Lindsey Wilson holds the top spot for the fifth straight week and the 36th time all-time tying Mid-South Conference member University of Rio Grande for the most No.1's all-time.
The Blue Raiders also own the longest consecutive streak in the poll. The Blue Raiders have been ranked in 57 straight times in the national poll dating back to the 2007 season.
National runner-up Hastings (Neb.) College (24-2) is No. 2 in the final poll with 512 voting points. Baker (Kan.) University (20-2-1) is third and William Carey (Miss.) University (16-4-3) is fourth with 492 and 481 voting points respectively. Rio Grande (19-3) finished No. 5 in the final poll with 456 voting points.
The top-25 poll is voted on by a panel of coaches representing each conference, independent or unaffiliated group.
