Blue Raiders finish 2011 with a 19-1-2 record
KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Lindsey Wilson College finished the 2011 season ranked third in the final NAIA Women's Soccer Coaches' Top-25 Poll, released on Tuesday by the NAIA.
Lindsey Wilson (19-1-2) received 437 voting points from the national raters after reaching the NAIA National Tournament quarterfinals.
The Blue Raiders lost 2-1 to eventual national runner-up and No. 2-ranked Concordia (Ore.) University in the quarterfinals for their only loss of the season.
Lindsey Wilson held the top ranking for the last seven weeks before slipping two spots in final poll.
NAIA national champions Lee (Tenn.) University (23-2) finished ranked No. 1 with 467 voting points, including all 17 first-place votes. Concordia (19-5-1) garnered 452 voting points followed by No. 4 Embry-Riddle (Fla.) University (17-3-1) and No. 5 University of Mobile (Ala.) (19-4-1) with 413 and 412 voting points respectively.
The top-25 poll is voted on by a panel of coaches representing each conference, independent or unaffiliated group.
