King, Taylor leads Blue Raiders to 17th straight win

WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. -- A balanced attack led the Lindsey Wilson College volleyball team to a 3-1 win tonight over host University of the Cumberlands (Ky.).

Four Blue Raiders recorded double digit kills and a pair ended with double-doubles in Lindsey Wilson's 21-25, 25-16, 28-26, 25-18 win.

Lindsey Wilson freshman Kirsten King led the team with 19 kills while freshman Taylor Hayne added 17 kills. Freshman Sierra Wilkerson chipped in 12 kills in her 22 swings and finished with a team-high .455 attacking percentage.

Freshman Sarah Anderson provided 11 kills while amassing a .348 attacking percentage.

In addition to her 19 kills, King led the Blue Raiders with 18 digs for her ninth double-double of the season and third straight. Junior Andrea Taylor provided a match-high 58 assists and 15 digs for her sixth double-double of the season.

With the win, Lindsey Wilson improves to 24-1 on the season and continues to lead the MSC West Division with an 8-1 conference record. Cumberlands falls to 13-8 overall and 4-5 in the MSC West.

Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 7 p.m. CT on Thursday, Oct.20, as the Blue Raiders host Georgetown (Ky.) College at Biggers Sports Center.
