Two Blue Raiders finish in the top 50 in Campbellsville

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. -- Anthony Cantrell bowled a four-game total 640 with a high game of 191 to finish 47th individually and lead Lindsey Wilson College to a 17th-place finish at the Green River Classic at Phillips Lanes in Campbellsville, Ky., on Saturday.

As a team, the Blue Raiders tallied 2,824 points in the qualifying round, followed by 1,995 points in the Baker format for 4,819 total points.

The University of Pikeville (Ky.) took the team title with 6.873 points, followed by the University of Louisville in second place with 6,735 points and Pikeville's second team rounding out the top three with 6,657 points.

Individually, Louisville's Bobby Byron posted the best four-game total of 857, while Lindenwood (Ill.) Belleville University's Jonathan Heimann scored the high game of 256.

Behind Cantrell for Lindsey Wilson was James Perrin in a tie for 49th place with a 627 and team-high game of 195 and Josh Popplewell in 54th place with a 621 and high game of 169.

James Duncan finished 68th in the 109-bowler field with a 528 and high of 152, while Tyler Knight took 98th place with a two-game total of 221, followed by John Updike in 99th place with a two-game total 185.

Lindsey Wilson returns to the lanes on Oct. 15-16 in the Orange and Black Classic in Beavercreek, Ohio.
