Nieslen scores first two goals of the season in the win
RIO GRANDE, Ohio -- Winning its seventh straight match came easy for the second ranked Lindsey Wilson College women's soccer team Saturday as it blew past the University of Rio Grande (Ohio) 4-0 on the road.
The RedStorm dropped to 4-6 overall and 1-2 in the Mid-South Conference with the loss while the Blue Raiders are now 7-0-1 and 2-0 in the MSC in the same week they were rated No. 1 in the NAIA's modified ratings-percentage index (MRPI).
Lindsey Wilson spread out its goals throughout the contest, scoring in the eighth, 22nd, 41st and 81st minutes while holding the RedStorm to a shutout, giving Lindsey Wilson four on the season.
Junior Patricia Nielsen did the majority of the damage for the Blue Raiders scoring her first two goals of the season with the first and last scores in the game. Senior Ida Gregersen issued the assist on the first goal and junior Saeda Sueki gave the second assist.
Between Nielsen's scores, sophomore Elizabet Madjarac tallied the second goal of the game unassisted and freshman Katarina Simic issued the third score off another assist by Gregersen.
