Conway All-American as well
COLUMBIA, Ky. -- Sophomore Sharon Ronoh finished the 2011 women's track & field season for Lindsey Wilson College as one of the top long-distance runners in the NAIA, collecting All-American honors in both the 5,000-meter run and 10,000-meter run with her top-six finishes in each event at the national championships.
Senior Chelsea Conway also added her name to the All-American list at nationals with her finish in the 5,000-meter race walk.
The Blue Raider women earned 13 team points at nationals to finish in a tie for 20th place overall after finishing fifth at the Mid-South Conference Championships.
At the conference meet Ronoh won the championship in both the 10,000-meter run with a time of 36 minutes and 42.22 seconds and the 5,000-meter run with a time of 18:06.71.
Her classmate Ruth Olson finished third in the 100-meter hurdles with a school-record time of 15.69 seconds and fourth in the 400-meter hurdles with another school record time of 1:06.78.
The Blue Raiders took the top three spots in the 5,000-meter race walk at the MSC Championships as well with senior Nicole Furnish leading the way in 25:36.98. Conway took second place in 25:42.41 and freshman Reini Brickson finished third in 27:31.63.
Through seven meets this season, Lindsey Wilson finished in the top 10 of three of them, including fifth at the MSC's on April 29, seventh at the Cedarville Invitational on March 26 and ninth at the Centre College Invitational on April 2.
